Computer Science, GCSE level Tutoring

In person tuition in Newcastle city centre
I offer 1-1 tuition in Computer Science in central Newcastle on Tyne.
Computing is an excellent career path, which can be creative, financially rewarding, and leaves a feeling of having done something that matters.
My background is:
- I spent about the last 30 years as a professional software engineer.
- Before that I studied Microelectronics and Software Engineering MEng for four years at Newcastle University.
- Before that I was a young hobbyist with a passion for computers.
As such I can not only guide the tutee in how to answer an exam paper, but also how things work in the real world as a professional software engineer.
If your child, or yourself as an adult learner, are looking for extra help getting the maximum grade possible for GCSE Computer Science, do contact me to discuss this further.
And if you, or the student, are in any doubt about the value of time spent learning Computer Science, check this page:
Above is a screenshot from an IT jobs board, taken the day I write this, 20th Oct 2026. As you see there are contracts paying from £350 to £600 per day.
Money isn't everything, but it sure helps. To be clear, these are not junior roles, but they do indicate where a career in IT can take an aspiring developer.
My current rates are £40 per hour for GCSE, and £45 per hour for A-level tutoring.
